You work outside with plants: you design and look after gardens or grow flowers, perennials, shrubs and trees.
What you do
In landscaping you create gardens, parks and playgrounds. You build paths, walls and ponds, plant things and look after the grounds through the year. In plant production you grow flowers, perennials, shrubs and trees in nurseries and give advice to customers.

- Practical skills and physical stamina
- Interest in plants and how they grow
- A feel for design and colours
How the apprenticeship works
The apprenticeship takes three years. You work in the company, go to vocational school and attend industry courses. There is also a two-year way in: gardener (EBA).
And afterwards
After the apprenticeship you can train further to become a team leader, head gardener or master gardener. With the vocational baccalaureate you can study landscape architecture or environmental engineering at a university of applied sciences.
